Archives Administration and Management

The Library Juice Academy Certificate in Archives Administration and Management is a six-course series designed for those who want to learn about archival methods and practices, or who need to better understand the particular requirements of archives. This might include librarians and other information professionals, senior management who are responsible for archives or special collections, or knowledge keepers, activists, and storytellers who are responsible for the records of their communities.

Upon completion of the certificate program, students will be prepared to undertake archival projects, including starting and maintaining an archives program, processing and managing collections, promoting and advocating for archives, and preserving archival materials.

Students should begin the certificate with the introduction course. The remaining five courses in this program complement and build upon each other; however, they have also been developed as stand-alone courses and can be taken as such. Participants who successfully complete all six courses will obtain a certificate of completion for the series.

Note, if you already have experience working in an archives or knowledge of core functions and would like to waive the introductory course, please reach out to Library Juice Academy to discuss options.
