Credits: 1.5 CEUs or 15 PDHs
This course introduces the instructional toolset, and technology, to create effective research guides with the LibGuides platform. It begins by covering how to select a research topic that fruitfully addresses a research need of your patron community. This includes topic selection, metadata creation, information literacy pedagogy, and advanced use of system settings. Subsequent instruction will move beyond the LibGuides platform and discuss how to integrate external libraries such as Font Awesome, Google Fonts, and Bootstrap. By using these tools, users will be able to create highly enhanced research guides that improve user experience and efficaciously teach information literacy skills. All students in this course will end the class with a completed research guide using the LibGuides platform.
