This course is designed to provide librarians with essential active learning strategies to engage patrons, promote information literacy, and elevate library instruction. Over four weeks, participants will explore various active learning techniques, instructional design principles, and technology tools to create dynamic and interactive library sessions.

Through readings, discussions, and practical assignments, librarians will gain the skills and confidence to implement active learning strategies effectively in their library environments. This course will explore active learning strategies for both in-class and online course instruction.

Participants should be aware that the course incorporates tools which may require the participant to download software; using a computer with the ability to allow plugins or downloads is recommended.

This course can be taken as one of the courses in our eight-course Certificate in Library Instruction, but can be taken as a stand-alone course as well.
