Library Juice to offer space for sunsetting ALA Discussion Groups

The American Library Association is currently facing a severe financial crisis, which is forcing it to cut back on many activities. The reorganizing initiative is called “ALA Forward.” One of the things that is happening is that ALA is reviewing all of the different member groups to see which ones to keep and which ones to pare back or “sunset.” ALA has released its recommendations to member units, and it seems that dozens of discussion groups are facing the axe. A list follows below.

Library Juice would like to offer, as a free service to the library community, a virtual presence and discussion space for any of the affected discussion groups that want a new home. This would entail an informational web page and an email discussion list hosted on our Mailman platform. If you’re interested in this, please contact us at inquiries@libraryjuiceacademy.com.
