Implementing and Managing Organizational Change

This course will help you navigate the myriad of change models that exist while identifying strategies to effectuate transformational change-one which is self-sustaining, occurs system-wide, and involves both internal and external stakeholders. You will work on identifying your organization's readiness for change as well as specific strategies to implement and assess how your organization has evolved.
Course Description
Change management is a topic that has grown in interest especially within a library context. Faced with ever competing demands on resources, implementing new initiatives, and demonstrating value within the broader organization, libraries live in a constant state of flux. This course will help you navigate the myriad of change models that exist while identifying strategies to effectuate transformational change-one which is self-sustaining, occurs system-wide, and involves both internal and external stakeholders. You will work on identifying your organization’s readiness for change as well as specific strategies to implement and assess how your organization has evolved. As part of this course, participants will:
- Analyze change models and focus on the core elements that pertain to all of them
- Assess organizational capacity for change
- Implement an ecosystem approach to managing change
- Determine the impact of change across the organization
Cinthya Ippoliti
Cinthya Ippoliti is the Auraria Library University Librarian and Director. In that role, she provides direct administrative leadership for library services, spaces, partnerships, and programming on the tri-institutional Auraria Campus, which serves the University of Colorado, Denver; Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. In collaboration with the Library’s senior management team, she sets the library’s strategic vision to develop new services, foster creativity and collaboration, and provide professional development and mentorship for faculty, staff, and student assistants. Previously, Cinthya served as the Associate Dean for Research and Learning Services at the Oklahoma State University libraries, and Head of Teaching and Learning at the University of Maryland libraries. She is a graduate of the Leading Change Institute and the Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians.
