Organizational AI Readiness for Libraries and Archives

$250.00

Dates: January 4 - January 31

Credits: 1.5 CEUs or 15 PDHs

This course examines the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on libraries as institutional entities, covering services, workflows, decision-making, costs, ethics, policy, and governance. It is designed for library personnel across diverse roles, specializations, and environments and requires no technical expertise or familiarity with specific AI tools. Rather than focusing on particular products or platforms, participants will apply practical frameworks to evaluate existing, emerging, and prospective AI applications in library contexts.Participants will develop an Organizational AI Readiness Snapshot—an abbreviated professional document summarizing the organizational context, stakeholder impacts, risks, opportunities, resource requirements, and governance considerations—that can be customized for their organization or a case study. The activity and deliverables are intended to facilitate practical discussion, strategic planning, and informed decision-making about AI.
