Zotero for Librarians

$200.00

Dates: March 6 - April 2

Credits: 1.5 CEUs or 15 PDHs

In this four-week course, we'll learn the basics of Zotero with a focus on assisting patrons and colleagues. Zotero is a free and open-source citation management software that can organize references for all types of materials as well as store associated files. It can also generate citations and bibliographies for those references. In the final two weeks we'll dive deeper into the software and explore advanced
workflows for your unique needs. Class assignments are practical and tailored to be used after the course. Learners might design a library guide, write a lesson plan, or script a reference interaction. Library workers who don't help patrons and/or write articles or presentations might develop a workflow for grant proposals or plan a system migration. No previous experience with Zotero or any other citation management program is required or expected, and library workers in every type of role and library are encouraged to enroll.
