This four week course will introduce you to the basics of web traffic assessment with Google Analytics, the popular web traffic collection and analysis tool. By harnessing information gained from Google Analytics, you will be prepared to make evidence-based design and content management decisions for your library’s website(s). Using a demo account, you will interact with a live Google Analytics account, learning how to understand and analyze the data presented and how to create basic reports.

1. This course does not cover Google Tag Manager or Google Optimize.
2. Access to your library’s existing Google Analytics account(s) is not required and demo accounts are available for all students. That being said, real data gathered from your library’s online environment may help contextualize the weekly readings and lessons. Requesting “Read & Analyze” access to your library’s Google Analytics account is encouraged.
This course can be taken as one of six courses needed to earn our Certificate in User Experience (UX), but can be taken as a stand-alone course as well.
