Megan McShea worked as an audiovisual archivist at the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution for 12 years. During that time she developed tools and workflows for audiovisual collection management, processing, and digitization. She wrote the widely-referenced Guidelines for Processing Collections with Audiovisual Material, available on AAA’s website, and teaches the workshop “Arrangement and Description of Audiovisual Materials” with the Society of American Archivists education program. She currently serves on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive and is a member of SAA, MARAC, ARSC, AMIA, and IASA. She lives in Baltimore, MD and works as a freelance archivist.
